Principal characteristics

By Langemarck and a fiew [me]

[Notes:] This page is a point of view of one mapper/player, not to be bound to be surely of all mappers & players. But I think it is very well to start playing, over time you make your own experience. For infos about "abbreviations" use in this page, see here map editing page.

Advantages:
-Very fast
-A majority to long range tanks equiped with mobil turret

Midle advantages:
-Medium firepower
-Medium-low accuracy

Disadvantage:
-Turn easy
-Very weak panzer

Notes:
-Most US-GB tanks can be hurt by 76.2mm anti tanks guns and lower. [-Off course, your general strategy depends too on what the maper gives you as units . Tipycal example is for German nation : If you have more mobile fast tanks -Panther, PZ III/IV- and less of slow fix turret tankhunter -JP, Nashorn, JgPz, Stug...- you must maybe choice a attack strategy, and if it's the opposite, maybe choose a defence strategy. And +/- same thing for other nations.]

Light tanks

Tanks & "infantery tanks" MK (UK)
:
- General (not all name listed):
Very weak armour, good speed & litle gun.
Except:
- slow speed [= "infantery tanks" = designed for to be used with infantery] for "Matilda" (UK & a fiew USSR) & "Valentine" (UK), effective against infantry and light german tanks.

- Very fast speed and better guns for "Hellcat" & "Chaffee" (US).
- "Wolverine M10" (US & a fiew USSR) have a fiew better armor than ligth tanks with gun same Sherman.

Midle tanks

Churchill: (UK & a fiew USSR) Slow speed [= "infantery tanks" = designed for to be used with infantery] but good firepower range and armour, strong against "Panthers".

Sherman: (US & a fiew USSR) Most used USA tanks, great speed, very good to rush and retreat however they got low armour and are easely destroyed by german at guns. They have medium-low firepower, they can't do alot of damage alone. Their speed can be used to surprise the enemy.

Comet: (UK) Very fast and  good firepower but weak armour. They are very usefull against any german tank if you use their speed. They are easy targets for panthers & nashorns.

Heavy tanks

Pershing: (US) Heavy US tank with good armour (+/- same Tiger I) and medium speed. Although the big seize it’s still a fast tank but a good target for heavy tankhunters. It turns easely and has good range(90mm). Used vs Tiger tanks and Panther.
[MAPPERS INFORMATIONS: For a minimum to WW2 immersion & serious realism. Preferably dont use this unit too often and in very litle quantity and with tardif specific scenarios maps. Production & use very limited in WW2… Only 200 ex arrived very late and to spread to january from may 1945 (only 2 destroy in WW2...]
.

Anti-Tank

Jackson: (US - AT) Fast tank hunter with mobil turret &very long range(90mm) and medium firepower, very weak armour.

Sherman Firefly & Achilles: (UK - AT) Fast tank hunter with mobil turret & weak armour but high firepower and range(17 pdr), they can be best used against german heavy tanks. Weak against light german tanks and paks.

Archer: (UK - AT) Slow tank hunter with fix turret with weak armour but high firepower and range(17 pdr).

Self Propaled Gun (ari direct shoot midle range)

Sexton & Bishop (UK), Priest (US), Sherman 105 mm (US): SPG direct shoot. Good vs infantery, guns, houses & litles tanks, but weak vs normal tanks. Very weak armour and Bishop very slow.

Self Propaled Gun & rocket launcher (ari indirect shoot long range)

HMC M40 long Tom (US), M4 Sherman Calliope (US)

In general: US & UK tanks have very good speed and can suprize your enemy easely, they retreat fast avoiding an enemy counter attack.

For "equitability" between units of nations, see too "Map editing & balance" section & the 2 important tables RWM units here.
"Equitability" not = total balance, but +/- balancing = possible in nations face to face of win.

Allies infantry

First: The most important rule when you are fighting is to create vision so USE OFFICERS at all time, and dont put them all alone in front.

Always have have back up officers in case your other officers die in a rush for example. Remove trees and other objects of they are blocking your right and use spy plane when assaulting hills.

Infantry:

Rifle/Mp: only usefull in close combat (rush) some mp troops have halfmine bombs, they can be used to blow up tanks, normal mp's have 2 grenades which can be used on light APC's.

MG troop: can be used to attack the ennemy infantry or at guns, has very good defence and can shoot mutiple soldiers in short time, always have a medics near in case he gets hit, weak against tanks APC's and snipers.

Flametrower: exelent to use as paratrooper, can be used in a rush to burn slow tanks left on the battlefield or bunkers, fir for close combat only so keep them at the back.

AT riflemen: usefull against very light tanks or light APC's.

Bazooka: very usefull against slow or other tanks that are stading still the 88mm SS panzerfaust can shoot from long distances and can do much damage, panzerfaust are best used in group in a rush, but don't send them in front, or hidden in a building.

Snipers: Can be used to neutralise ennemy at guns and officers.

In general: always have infantry around when you attack the enemy, be prepared for a counter-attack.  Most units can lay down just select the units and press B, this way they will die less easy but they will move slower and have less vision.
